# Your first step

Tap the tutorial NPC and you’ll be given your first Town Hall. Recommend placing it as far north as possible. Your town expands as it levels and you’ll gain useless water tile if you place it towards the south.

Tap these info dialogs to progress

Keep following the NPC’s directions as he unlocks more features for you. Often he will repeat same dialog a couple times before revealing more. Be sure to tap him multiple times.

Note: On a rare occasion, NPC will give no dialog. Which means your game is bugged. You'll need to clear your game data (or reinstall) and restart a new run.

I like placing Royal Room to the far east. That is the direction of the sea port where visitors will arrive from.

Many of the instructions are optional. The prompt to speed up construction with a hammer for example can be ignored.

While a few are mandatory such as building a city gate. You have to build it. Once done, I recommend destroying your fence. It's the easier way to allow your people out of town.

Then you will be given a Researcher. Research is how you produce more things to build. You will also unlock gears and consumable research as you meet their requirements (usually by having certain amount of items in your storage)

As weird as it sounds, your researchers do not need to be at their lab. They can be deployed outside town or even assigned to work in the mines. Their research will still progress normally.

The game will also give you decorations to research. Fountain, bench, flowers, etc. Try not to build too many, if at all. Townspeople in this game LOVE decorations. They'll prioritize using them over other works. Which can really hurt your town's productivity.

After research is unlocked, NPC will start to give you research for more storage when you run out of space. Grass storage full, you get grass research. Wood storage full, you get wood research. You get the idea

Running out of wood or grass for the first time will also trigger dialog to unlock production facilities for them.

Food, ore and mystic ore productions will come later.
